potluck invitation wording

A potluck is a great way to get a large amount of your friends and family together while keeping costs low.

Everybody wins at a potluck as there is a great amount of food to sample from!

Here are some tips and potluck invitation wording ideas to get you off on the right foot!

  • You may want to note that drinks, plates, cups & cutlery will be provided though this will be generally assumed by your guests.
  • You also want to assign certain types of dishes to people or let them pick and call you with the dish they will bring (you don’t want 20 desserts, after all!)
  • Something cute you can put on your potluck invitation wording is a note like this: “Bring a dish that starts with a letter in your last name.”
  • Additionally, you can write on the each individual potluck invitation what you want your guest to bring. I have seen cute potluck invitations that read “Please bring your favorite: appetizer, side dish, entree, dessert” with check boxes next to each option. The host/hostess can simply check off the type of dish they want their guest to bring.
